Whirlpool has recently announced that they are currently working on an Apple Watch app that will being able to connect the Apple Watch to more than 20 of their appliances. Some of the appliances that they are working on are ovens, washing machines, and dryers.
This news was announced at CES in Las Vegas this year and appears to be the first manufacturer to take on this feat.
In addition to performing simple functions on the Apple Watch app, users will also be able to perform other crucial tasks such as checking on the progress of their washing machines, or checking the time on their oven.
Whirlpool listed some examples of what we can expect:
- Ovens - Check temperature, change oven settings during cooking cycle
- Washing machines - Change the type of wash cycle while in use
- Dryers - Check if a cycle has started, see how much time is remaining on the cycle
That's all we know so far but you can expect to hear more about this later in the year when Whirlpool officially announces their Apple Watch app.
