How to Find Out Which Apple Watch Band or Cover You Need

IMPORTANT

If you are looking to get an Apple Watch band or an Apple Watch cover, you'll need to know which size model you have in order for your band and case cover to fit properly. It is best to double check your model before completing your check-out.

In any case, if you don't know or aren't sure which Apple Watch you have, there are multiple ways for you to find out.

The easiest way is to simply turn your Apple Watch over and look on the back.  There will be an tiny engraving on it all around the heart rate sensor which will tell you which model and size you have.  If you just see "Apple Watch" with no series after, then you have the 1st generation Apple Watch (also known as Series 0).

If you can't read the engraving because it is damaged, scuffed, faded, then you can go into your iPhone watch app and go to Settings  → General → About →Model.  Then you can simply do a Google search and your model should show up.

You can also follow Apples official support document for finding your Apple Watch model.

Once you find out your Apple Watch size, you can read below to find your exact Apple Watch Series:

Small Apple Watch Series:

  • 38mm, Apple Watch Series 0, 1, 2 or 3
  • 40mm, Apple Watch Series 4, 5, SE or 6
  • 41mm, Apple Watch Series 7, 8, 9

Large Apple Watch Series:

  • 42mm, Apple Watch Series 0, 1, 2 or 3
  • 44mm, Apple Watch Series 4, 5, SE or 6
  • 45mm, Apple Watch Series 7, 8, 9
  • 49mm, Apple Watch Ultra, Ultra 2

If you are purchasing an Apple Watch band, and find you have the smaller watch series, then you may select the  "41mm/40mm/38mm" band option as all these sizes are interchangeable.

If you have the larger watch series, you will select the "49mm/45mm/44mm/42mm" band option as all these sizes are interchangeable.

If you are purchasing an Apple Watch cover, you will need to select the exact watch size that you have i.e if you have a 49mm watch, you will select "49mm" or if you have a 41mm watch, you will need to select the "41mm" size option etc.

Ordered gold band for 45mm and it’s works fine but case I ordered is for 45 mm and Watch is 44 mm and I tnink it won’t fit. Should I have ordered a 44 mm?
